“Promoting Innovation to Unlock Opportunities for Sustained Economic Growth and Development Towards and Industrialized SADC”

The Government of Zimbabwe, through the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MWACSMED), is set to host the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Ministers Responsible for Gender and Women Affairs Meeting.It will bring together a host of Gender and Women Affairs Ministers and Government officials from across the SADC region to discuss and coordinate policies and initiatives which are aimed at advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women across the region.

This year’s SADC Gender and Women Affairs Meeting will also focus on reviewing the progress which has been made to date, in the implementation of the SADC Gender Programme. As the host Government and current chair of SADC, member states including Zimbabwe will take this Regional Ministerial platform to share the successful work and programmes that have been implemented to reduce gender inequality and improve women empowerment. Zimbabwe will take this opportunity to showcase lessons learnt and its achievements under the 2nd Republic led by His Excellency the President Dr. E. D. Mnangagwa.

The Meeting Of SADC Ministers Responsible For Gender And Women Affairs will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), Rainbow Towers Hotel, located in the Central Business District (CBD) Harare.

THE 43RD JOINT MEETING OF MINISTERS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENERGY AND FOR WATER IN THE SADC MEMBER STATES 30 JUNE TO 04 JULY 2025

Promoting Innovation to Unlock Opportunities for Sustained Economic Growth and Development Towards and Industrialized SADC

The Republic of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Energy and Power Development and the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development will co-host the 43rd Joint meeting of Ministers responsible for Energy and Ministers responsible for Water in SADC Member States from the 30th of June to the 4th of July 2025.

Ministers will deliberate among other critical issues, the status on implementation of regional energy projects that aim to address energy security in the region and the preparedness of SADC Member states towards implementation of the Dar es Salaam Declaration on Mission 300 that aims to increase electricity access to at least 300 million people living in Sub-Saharan Africa by 2030. They will also focus on reviewing progress made in delivery of regional water projects to improve water and sanitation services in the SADC Member States and in the implementation of the Climate Resilient Infrastructure projects.
