The Department of Immigration through the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage is hosting the MIGRATION DIALOGUE FOR SOUTHERN AFRICA (MIDSA) Conference under the THEME: “Promoting Regional Intergration Through Sustaining Safe, Regular, And Orderly Migration In The Southern African Region”. The conference will run from the 24-27 October 2025 in Victoria Falls.
The overall objective of the 2025 MIDSA technical meeting is to contribute to “PROMOTING REGIONAL INTERGRATION THROUGH SUSTAINING SAFE, REGULAR, AND ORDERLY IN THE SOUTHERN AFRICAN REGION”. Since 2018, the SADC (Southern Africa Development Community) Member States have been using the GCM Frameworks to improve regional migration management cooperation. It is envisaged that the MIDSA 2025 technical and Ministerial meeting will discuss progress in the implementation of GCM in the context of Southern Africa and strategies ways to accelerate the GCM implementation as we move toward the second IMRF in 2026 and how the SADC Regional Migration Policy Framework cascading can accelerate the implementation of GCM objectives
The Conference will be held at the Elephant Hills Hotel, Victoria Falls
The Republic of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Energy and Power Development and the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development will co-host the 43rd Joint meeting of Ministers responsible for Energy and Ministers responsible for Water in SADC Member States from the 30th of June to the 4th of July 2025.
Ministers will deliberate among other critical issues, the status on implementation of regional energy projects that aim to address energy security in the region and the preparedness of SADC Member states towards implementation of the Dar es Salaam Declaration on Mission 300 that aims to increase electricity access to at least 300 million people living in Sub-Saharan Africa by 2030. They will also focus on reviewing progress made in delivery of regional water projects to improve water and sanitation services in the SADC Member States and in the implementation of the Climate Resilient Infrastructure projects.
The Joint Meeting of SADC Ministers Responsible for Energy and Ministers Responsible for Water will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), Rainbow Towers Hotel, located in the Central Business District (CBD) Harare.
